Graduate Data Analytics Summer Intern

Part Time: 4-8 hours/week                            

Dates: May 27st- August 2nd                            

Location: Remote

Pay: $15-18/hr depending on experience

About Plan C:

Plan C is a non-profit organization devoted to democratizing access to information on medication abortion in the United States. Since 2016, our team of researchers and creative strategists have worked to legitimized and destigmatize self-managed abortion by sharing information on the unjust restriction, stigmatization and overmedicalization of abortion pills, an FDA approved technology that has been shown to be safe and effective for over two decades.

The Position:

We are currently seeking a Data Analytics Intern to help us conduct a thorough analysis of our organization’s growth. We are looking for someone who has a background in statistical analysis and experience developing reports that identify associations and data trends. This position will provide the opportunity to explore the impact of media, policy and politics on the growth of a newly launched organization and the spread of information. The Data Analytics Intern will gain an understanding of the intersections of reproductive healthcare innovation, media and politics, areas that could potentially translate into a thesis or capstone project. The selected candidate will report to Plan C’s Social Media Director, a founding member of the organization who has a background in public health and policy.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Graduate student pursuing MPH, MBA or MPP degree with a passion for reproductive justice

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to draft clear and concise reports

  • Strong data analytic skills and experience using programs such as STATA, R and MS Excel

  • Demonstrated research experiences; ability to conduct literature reviews of peer-reviewed resources and analyze quantitative and qualitative data for validity and limitations

  • Commitment to health equity; strong understanding of disparities in reproductive healthcare access

  • Strong ability to take initiative, work independently and use sound judgement

  • Developed organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities and meet set due dates

  • Creative and strategic thinker; ability to think outside of the box and identify alternative solutions
